From working title to fully-fledged product NEXT
From working title to fully-fledged product NEXT: All about the rebranding of New E-Business Xperience Technology
The cross-departmental project, which you previously knew under the working title Marketplace, has been given a final product name and is now called NEXT.
The new name NEXT is an acronym for New E-Business Xperience Technology. NEXT thus summarizes the entirety of Würth IT's e-business infrastructure, which includes the SAP Customer Experience Tech Stack as well as Mirakl as a supplier management tool and other microservices. Compared to the working title, the more comprehensive new name NEXT makes the possibility of designing different business models clear.
The business models and the respective revenue streams for our Würth companies are summarized on our main page of the website.
There is also the "Full Scope Marketplace" business model, which is primarily characterized by the integration of Würth Groups or external suppliers to expand the product range. This means that Allied Companies and Würth Line companies with little e-business experience can use the supplier model to sell their products via a marketplace without having to operate their own store. Furthermore, the online store, as it currently exists on the basis of Intershop, will be migrated to the new architecture in the long term. This is expected to be the preferred business model for the majority of Würth companies and will be further expanded in 2024.
Following the MVP go-live in Italy, the further development and professionalization of the range of functions is at the heart of the NEXT project this year. In addition, the foundations were laid in 2023 for the four major focus topics of "App", "Omnicanality", "E-Procurement" and "Rollout Engine", which will be further developed and expanded in 2024.
