Successful launch of NEXT's Italian marketplace MVP
Würth Italy: Marketplace MVP Go Live
We have been live in Italy with our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) since 19.12.2023 and the first customer orders have already been successfully delivered!
Since June 2022, it has been clear that Würth Italy will become a pilot company for the New E-Business Xperience Technology (NEXT) and establish the "Full Scope Marketplace" business model. This means that both the new e-business infrastructure based on the SAP CX Tech Stack will be used and a business-side change to existing processes within the organization will be implemented. At the core of the "Full Scope Marketplace" business model is the expansion of Würth's own product range through internal or external suppliers, which are connected via the Mirakl add-on module. This also describes the main difference to NEXT's "Pure Online Shop" business model.
The Italian MVP: an overview
The MVP offers all the necessary functions to map a flawless ordering process. The two external suppliers Odibi and Neri are currently expanding the "occupational safety" product category. Würth Italy's goal for this and the coming years is to further expand its supplier base. NEXT's focus topics for 2024 include the expansion of features as well as the app and e-procurement options.
Initial customer feedback: Intuitive and fast
There was also an extensive feedback round on the day the shop went live, after customers had placed their first orders via the marketplace. The store is fast, intuitive and convenient. The function of filtering the product catalog by supplier and brand as well as the individual invoice were particularly positively highlighted. Customers were particularly curious about plans to add more suppliers so that they can take advantage of the expanded product range even more quickly.
